Boat Daycare offers a balance of free play both indoors and out and some more structured group times.  It is a safe place to make friends, be creative and learn through play under the supervised care of early childhood educators.

Here are a handful of important issues that you need to know right off the bat:

Ages Served – Children 30 months to 5 years

Days of Operation – Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm

Closed – Public statutory holidays

Staff/Child Ratio – 1 staff member per 8 children.

Parent Guide

You can download a copy of the Parents’ Guide here. The guide was designed to cover all the aspects of life at Boat Daycare and we hope that you find it useful.

Fees and Payments:

Fees are due and payable on the first of every month.  This will be withdrawn through one’s account via pre-authorized payment and are required regardless of a child’s possible absence due to illness, vacation, statutory holiday, etc. as your child’s space will be reserved for him/her.

Gradual Entry

Children are integrated gradually into the program and routine at the daycare. A typical gradual entry will look like below:

  • Day 1 – 9:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  You and your child may stay one or two hours with his/her parent(s) present.
  • Day 2 – 9:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Your child may stay alone while the parent(s) leaves for two hours.
  • Day 3 – 9:15 a.m. to  1:00 p. m.  Your child stays for lunch, and will take part in group story-time.
  • Day 4 – This is a full day and will include lunch and nap time.  We recommend an early pick up time between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p. m.

This process is flexible and the parents and staff can determine when the child is ready to stay for the whole day. Please note that we are implementing a different procedure during the pandemic.
